Project 02: Video Shooting & Editing
Project 2A: Production Shoot
In this task, we were
required to work in a group to complete video shooting according
to the given movie title. I'm in the group with the given movie
title, 'Beef'. After completing the video shooting, we were
required to individually edit the footage without following the
storyboard. This allowed us to apply our creativity in video
editing and utilize our skills.
After video shooting, I downloaded all the footage and renamed
them into shots and takes to make it easier for me to select and
differentiate the footage. I then imported the chosen footage into
Adobe Premiere Pro and started editing. I synchronized the audio
with the footage and applied audio transitions. I also learned
from YouTube how to create some flashback effects.

Project 2B: Insta/ TikTok Video
We were tasked with
completing the idea development for Project 02 Video Exercise 01,
which was a self-titled Instagram/ TikTok video project. This
required us to brainstorm ideas for the video and then compile the
information into the provided slide template.

After I presented my idea development slides to Mr. Martin and explained my concept and ideas for the Insta/TikTok video, Mr. Martin suggested that I rethink the idea. The topic of the video is acceptable. However, the creativity of shooting and the way to present the topic should be more creative and interesting. Based on the feedback given, I reconsidered how to shoot my video. I watched a few TikTok videos to get more inspiration for producing a creative and attractive video. I then rewrote my ideas into slides.

I then proceeded with shooting for the following week. I shot the video according to the storyboard and also considered the details that needed to be shown in the video, such as the clothing, items' positions, and shot size.

I showed my progress to Mr. Martin, and he suggested adding captions for every action in the video to make it easier for the audience to understand the ideas I wanted to convey in the motion of the video. Based on the feedback, I added captions to the TikTok video and also did color correction for the video to achieve a consistent color temperature and a standard appearance.

It was my first experience collaborating with a large team for a production. Since all of us were new to production shoots, initially, we were uncertain about our respective tasks and roles. After an hour of shooting, we became more acquainted with each other and gained a better understanding of our responsibilities. I'm truly grateful for our actors, especially one male team member who volunteered to portray female characters since we didn't have female actors. They performed admirably, giving their best in acting and cooperating with the entire team. It was a joy to work with my teammates, who are not only cute but also responsible.
This project emphasized the power of teamwork. When teammates are responsible and cooperative, projects progress smoothly. Each member excelling in their designated roles showcases the collective strength of a group, producing outcomes that surpass individual efforts and creating a more relaxed atmosphere compared to working independently. Throughout this project, I observed the diversity of ideas and creativity among team members in video making and editing. Despite having the same footage and audio, the final edited outcomes varied due to each person's unique approach.
Insta/TikTok Video
In this project, I experienced a bit of stress when my initial idea was rejected by Mr. Martin. I faced challenges in generating a creative and interesting concept that could capture viewers' attention. It took me several days to find inspiration and come up with new ideas. The process of ideation in design can be time-consuming and requires careful observation and sufficient practice in daily life.
Through this project, I gained insights into creating creative TikTok videos. Since TikTok videos are very short, around 60 seconds, interestingly conveying information is crucial to ensure that viewers remember the content.
