REFLECTIONS
Experience
As the module, Advanced Typography comes to
its final stage in week 14, I reflect on the journey of completing this
course and have experienced a range of emotions. I felt confused and
exhausted at the beginning of each assignment. Each assignment presented its
own challenges that needed to be overcome. However, I also felt a sense of
satisfaction every time an assignment reached its final stage. I am
particularly satisfied with developing two fonts in this module, even though
they may not be fully completed as some special characters were not
developed.
Observation
Studying advanced typography has provided me with
deeper insights compared to basic typography. I've noticed that I now spend
time observing existing posters or designs to understand the way they present
their fonts and designs. It has become clear to me that there are still many
principles and rules that need to be understood to create and apply my
creativity effectively.
Findings
After completing the 14-week study of typography, I've
gained a deeper understanding of the subject. However, I realize that I am not
yet a master, and there is still a need for further study and research.
Typography holds significant importance in our daily lives, as it is prevalent
in various aspects. Recognizing the rules of typography allows us to design in
a consistent manner, contributing to effective and visually pleasing
communication.
